Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:30) Experience: Minimum 2 years of PICU experience License: Current New Jersey State or Compact License required Certifications: BLS and PALS required Must-Have: COVID vaccination and booster required, with no exemptions. Must be able to pass a basic arrhythmia exam. Floating required to Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) with training provided. Willingness to care for COVID patients. Description: The position requires candidates to have a current nursing license in New Jersey. Candidates must have two years of experience in a PICU setting. BLS and PALS certifications are necessary to qualify for this position. The nurse will be responsible for a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:2 in the PICU. The nurse may be required to monitor patients in both PICU and pediatric units. Self-scheduling is allowed, but final approval comes from management. The nurse will be expected to provide total care as no patient care assistants are present on the unit. Weekend shifts will be assigned every third weekend. Candidates should be prepared to assist with high-flow oxygen therapies and CPAP. The unit consists of 4 PICU beds and 8 convertible beds that can accommodate monitored patients or pediatric patients as needed. All current and future travelers are expected to float to offsite locations as needed.
