Job Description:
Interstate Waste Services, a leader in the non-hazardous waste
management sector in the U.S. Northeast, is seeking a dedicated and
experienced Manager of Hauling Operations. This position is crucial
for ensuring efficient and effective management of daily hauling
operations, aligning them with company policies and local, state,
and federal regulations. The role demands a proactive approach to
overseeing all aspects of the transportation and disposal of waste,
maintaining safety, operational excellence, and environmental
stewardship. Oversee daily operations across various hauling and
disposal sites to ensure compliance with regulatory and company
standards. Manage, train, and mentor transportation staff,
fostering a culture of safety and efficiency. Develop and implement
strategic operational plans to enhance productivity and
profitability. Coordinate maintenance and operational readiness of
all equipment to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.
Collaborate with other departments to optimize logistics and routes
for waste collection and transport. Monitor and manage operational
budgets and expenses to maintain fiscal responsibility. Ensure all
operations adhere to environmental policies and practices to
maintain compliance with environmental regulations. Resolve
operational issues quickly and effectively to minimize impact on
services and customer satisfaction. Strong leadership and people
management skills Excellent organizational and planning
capabilities In-depth understanding of transportation and logistics
management Proficiency with operational and route management
software Ability to work under pressure and make decisions in a
fast-paced environment Strong communication and interpersonal
skills Professional certification in Logistics or Waste Management
preferred CDL License is advantageous
