Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of
receiving, warehousing, and distribution. This role ensures
efficient execution of operational, personnel, and compliance
requirements through effective planning, coordination, and
continuous process improvement. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES &
ACCOUNTABILITIES Manage receiving, warehousing, and distribution
operations by implementing, coordinating, and enforcing program,
operational, and personnel policies and procedures. Ensure
compliance with all federal, state, and local warehousing, material
handling, and shipping regulations. Advise management on required
actions. Implement and manage warehouse operating systems related
to product handling, storage, equipment utilization, inventory
management, and shipping. Develop, enforce, and update related
policies and procedures. Safeguard warehouse operations and
inventory by enforcing and monitoring security measures. Conduct
cycle counts and physical inventories to maintain inventory
accuracy; identify issues and drive corrective actions with staff.
Maintain warehouse conditions by enforcing sanitation standards,
operational procedures, and equipment inspections; request work
orders for repairs or equipment replacement as needed. Meet
operational requirements by scheduling, assigning, and supervising
employees; follow up on work results. Coordinate loading and
unloading activities to ensure deliveries meet organizational
guidelines. Develop and implement process improvements across all
materials and finished goods handling and delivery functions. Lead
warehouse staff by orienting, training, developing, counseling,
disciplining, and evaluating employee performance. Assign and
adjust standard work assignments for direct reports to support
shipping and receiving demands while promoting safety objectives.
Ensure facility safety, employee awareness of safety procedures,
and timely reporting of all safety incidents. Serve as a subject
matter expert in warehouse operations and maintain strong working
relationships with operations, planning, inventory, human
resources, safety, and freight teams. Coordinate with the site
maintenance lead to ensure freezer units operate properly, maintain
required temperatures, and provide a safe working environment.
Attend required company meetings, including safety, production, and
departmental meetings. Inform management of any issues, problems,
or operational complications. Participate in special projects and
perform additional duties as assigned. Contribute to team success
by meeting company standards for quality and quantity of work and
complying with all company policies, procedures, GMP requirements,
OSHA regulations, lock-out/tag-out procedures, and workplace
behavior standards. Fulfill supervisory food safety
responsibilities, including ensuring safe food handling practices,
recognizing and mitigating food safety hazards, completing
mandatory in-house food safety training, and maintaining working
knowledge of the SQF Code. Required Qualifications 3–4 years of
related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of
education and experience Ability to read, analyze, and interpret
business publications, technical procedures, and government
regulations Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and
procedure manuals Ability to present information and respond to
questions from managers, customers, and the general public Strong
verbal and written communication skills with the ability to
communicate effectively with individuals of varying technical
backgrounds; bilingual skills are a plus Proficiency in Microsoft
Word and Excel Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to
work independently Ability to apply common-sense understanding to
carry out written, oral, or diagrammed instructions Ability to
solve problems involving multiple variables in standardized
situations
