OK The Assistant General Manager is responsible for all transportation activities, including the dispatching of vehicles on schedule, the oversight of the vehicles and operators while in service, and processing and verifying operations payroll. Assists the General Manager in all normal managerial functions required in the day-to-day operation of the transit system. Evaluates departmental recommendations for the establishment and review of policies, guidelines, and practices as they relate to the efficient business management of the corporation. Serves as DBE Liaison Officer. Responsible for development and implementation of DBE Plan Goal, FTA reporting, maintains access to state directory of DBE's, reviews procurements, etc. according to MITS Procurement Policy and 49 CFR 26. Responsible for Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action policy compliance and reporting. Oversees/coordinates investigation of EEO/AA related items. Responsible for procurement and monitoring of all corporate insurance coverage including property/casualty, workers compensation, and health. Responsible for development and implementation of the Transit Development Plan and ADA Compliance Plan. Monitors and evaluates route performance with Director of Transportation, Assistant Director of Transportation and General Manager. Assists in determining and recommending route and service improvements. Assists in the presentation and discussion of recommendations for route and service improvements with route committee, Board of Directors and general public. Determines and recommends bus stop and shelter locations. Prepares route and system maps and scheduling. Monitors performance of automated on time trip planner and real time customer information tools, update as needed. Serves as the liaison between the MITS and the Metropolitan Planning Organization. Responsible for implementing the donated transportation service policy including request approval and denial, budget compliance and coordinating the service scheduling with the transportation and maintenance departments. Responsible for the implementation of the Title VI Program Compliance Plan. Must have knowledge of transit operations, maintenance, and administration. Must have good communication skills. High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferred.
