Job Description:

Interstate Waste Services, a leader in non-hazardous waste management in the U.S. Northeast, is seeking a dedicated Safety Supervisor to join our growing team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the safety and compliance of our daily operations. The Safety Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing all safety protocols and programs, ensuring that we meet and exceed regulatory safety standards, and helping us to maintain our commitment to a safe and healthy workplace. Develop, implement, and oversee the safety policies and procedures in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations. Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement preventative strategies. Lead safety meetings and training sessions for staff, ensuring all team members are educated on the latest industry standards and compliance requirements. Investigate accidents or incidents to discover causes and handle worker's compensation claims. Prepare and maintain reports for health and safety compliance for upper management review. Collaborate with management to develop operational changes to mitigate safety risks. Maintain constant communication with regulatory bodies and coordinate with external safety consultants and service providers. Strong knowledge of OSHA guidelines and other federal and state safety regulations. Excellent organizational and communicative skills. Proactive problem-solving skills. Ability to train and motivate staff to embrace safety measures. Proficient in MS Office and safety management software. Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) preferred. OSHA 30-hour certification.
